Adopting a modern USB Type-C input interface, the K3 provides a reliable and stable connection, including power. Overvoltage protection (OVP) and a double-filter circuit ensure power supply stability, while the digital and analog audio circuits have separate power supplies to reduce crosstalk.

The K3 features coaxial and optical digital outputs, with the XMOS USB receiver chip directly converting any USB audio input to digital signals output through these connectors. The volume knob does not control digital output volume, so users should adjust the settings of the connected device if it does not support the K3's digital output format.

The K3 offers versatile connection options. It can connect to a desktop computer, use the driverless USB Audio Class 1.0 mode for business trips, serve as a digital turntable connected to an external decoder, or connect to a speaker system, using the K3 as a DAC.

Gain and bass switches further enhance the K3's flexibility. The gain switch ensures the K3 can be used with a wide variety of headphones, while the hardware bass boost switch enhances the dynamic range and punch of lower frequencies.

The K3 supports two USB audio modes. The high-performance USB Audio Class 2.0 mode allows up to 384kHz/DSD256 decoding, while the USB Audio Class 1.0 mode supports up to 96kHz/24-bit PCM audio without drivers. Users must switch modes by turning the K3 off and on or unplugging and reconnecting the USB cable.
